Excellent addition to my high school reading intervention classroom

I am using the strategies this year and having very positive results. I am using Tucker Signing and a good phonics program also and the word wall fits very well with my program. Wonderful addition to my toolbox!
I like this book so much that I bought a second copy so I always have it at my fingertips. My high school students refer to the word wall often. I put up the Nifty Fifty, frequently misspelled and current vocabulary from our short stories. I color code the Nifty fifty per the prefix and suffix list at the beginning of the book. I use the activities that are age appropriate for bell ringers and have also adapted many activities.

I must like it. I already had it and bought it again!

Oops! I accidentally bought this book twice. I already had it! LOL! I'm going to give it to my teaching partner because it has great lessons and ideas in it. Our school is really focusing on phonics next year, so I'm thinking this will help quite a bit. I love 4-Blocks materials, but I have to fight for my right to use them these days.

it gives a good progression of activities through the year

I use this for my middle school special education students who still need some phonics work. Some activities are spot on, others I won't use. Overall, though, it gives a good progression of activities through the year, divided into one set of each kind of lesson per calendar month. I especially like the lessons using familiar food (junk food) to group words with the same endings to help kids read and spell using these patterns.
