Instant #1 New York Times Bestseller
For the first time, rock music’s most famous muse tells her incredible story
Pattie Boyd, former wife of both George Harrison and Eric Clapton, finally breaks a forty-year silence and tells the story of how she found herself bound to two of the most addictive, promiscuous musical geniuses of the twentieth century and became the most legendary muse in the history of rock and roll. The woman who inspired Harrison’s song “Something” and Clapton’s anthem “Layla,” Pattie Boyd has written a book that is rich and raw, funny and heartbreaking–and totally honest.

A Q&A with Pattie Boyd, Author of Wonderful Tonight
Why are you writing the book now?
Review
"[T]he appeal of Wonderful Tonight is as self-evident as the seemingly simple but brash opening chord of 'A Hard Day’s Night'… a charming, lively and seductive book, and like all good memoirs it also works as a cultural history… The prose is clear and unpretentious, and although she writes candidly about the pain her husbands ’ infidelities caused her…this isn’t a bitter tell-all. There’s an aura of sweetness around Boyd’s approach."
—New York Times Book Review
“A scrumptious memoir…There is exactly one big question for Ms. Boyd to answer here: What made her leave Mr. Harrison for Mr. Clapton, her husband’s close friend? To its credit the book answers that question plausibly and fully.”
—The New York Times
"They say if you can remember the '60s, you weren't really there. Well, Pattie Boyd was there, and she remembers it all." Wonderful Tonight "is a unique gospel of a turbulent time by someone who was in the very eye of the rock 'n' roll hurricane."
—Sydney Morning Herald
"Pattie Boyd married two Sixties legends and inspired three of the era's greatest love songs, but life was far from glamorous. The ex-wife of George Harrison and Eric Clapton speaks out in this compelling autobiography."
—The London Sunday Times
"There are so many wonderful stories in Pattie Boyd's life: Falling in love with a Beatle. Falling in love with another famous rock star, Eric Clapton, and being serenaded with 'Wonderful Tonight' . . . "But there is much that is excruciating in her life story." Boyd "was taught by her parents that she didn't deserve to be loved; she was told by her husbands that she wasn't worth very much, but here she is: not dead, not on drugs, not an alcoholic, but a survivor."
—London Daily Mail
“Will thrill classic-rock buffs with a taste for scandal.”
—Entertainment Weekly
“Boyd finally answers some of those questions [about George Harrison and Eric Clapton]–but on her own terms.”
—USA Today
“Sixties model Pattie Boyd opens up about her rocky relationships with two of music’s most famed performers.”
—Harper’s Bazaar
From the Hardcover edition.

An insight into the world of those who've never had to work for a living
By Lord Flashheart
This is really a book about the golden age of rock stars, let's call it 1963 to Live Aid. It's very enjoyable in a makes-you-wonder-if-you're-living-on-the-right-planet kind of way and seriously makes you question the standard of careers advice given to us in the 1970's. Rather than focus on French A level, I'd have been far better off to have learned to play the guitar as I could have joined Kajagoogoo or something.
Anyway, no use crying over spilt milk and on with the review.
In truth, none of Harrison, Clapton or Patti Boyd herself come out of this story particularly well. Patti is almost a 'Last Days of the Empire' caricature. George Harrison was lost without Epstein making most of his real life decisions for him and, if half of her claims about EC are true, the man has some pretty serious psychological issues.
In many respects, it's like reading about a slow-motion trainwreck ...... a must for all schadenfreude fans.

Interesting stories, but ...
By MPFried
Pattie's writing style is a bit haphazard. I felt like I was reading her journal. It was written in a very casual tone, like talking to a friend.
I don't blame Pattie. She has lived a very interesting life and let us peek into it. But the book was poorly edited. The story jumps around a lot. For example, after she leaves Eric, there are stories from when they were together that seem out of place. The timeline of her life wasn't laid out clearly. Occasionally, she provides a date or a year but the narrative jumps around a lot, especially at the end of the book.
Still, I enjoyed having a front row seat to see into the Beatles and Clapton's early years. I'm glad she told her story.

A life briefly wonderful then back to reality
By M on Amazon
Some people are the party and wherever they go the party comes with them. Pattie Boyd just happened to catch the eye of one of those people and the transition from George Harrison back to reality was distracted by Eric Clapton. There isn't really much said of George as much as meeting and marrying George laid the foundation for Eric. Most of her activity with Eric involved drugs, alcohol, passionate sex when he wasn't out of his mind (you must guess "the passion' meant sex), and abuse. For a girl who was the subject of many famous love songs she turned out to be mere mortal. Her description of life after Eric is that of Josephine Anyone. All of her subsequent trips and activities are described like someone trying to make the mundane sound exciting but they are just too accessible by the general public. The Pattie Boyd in the songs would not have felt she needed to sound interesting.
