But it is usually very difficult to find EASY and ATTRACTIVE problems

Have you ever led a math club? If you have, you probably know that it is not difficult to find interesting hard problems. But it is usually very difficult to find EASY and ATTRACTIVE problems.
I love this book because it contains a plenty of problems that you need when you want to teach interesting math. Do you want to teach proofs but most proofs are too difficult or stupid exercises in applying formal logic? Do your students like chess and you would welcome a couple of nifty problems with a chessboard? Do you like puzzles with toothpicks? Do you teach gifted students but they don't know enough algebra to solve problems from regular competitions? Open this book!!
Not only I like the problems in this book but I also like that there are short stories from history. I would simply say that the book is ideal for anyone who wants to teach children. The book says that the problems are best suited for gifted 4th and 5th graders. I think that it is basically suitable for older students as well as long as you want to teach them real math and they don't have a strong background.

Amazing Book

First, I was bumped up from advanced sixth grade math to advanced eighth grade math. This book is still more advanced than eighth grade, but some of the concepts in my class lead up to some of the more advanced concepts in this book. I think that the magic squares unit was very interesting. I also enjoyed the math and chess section and the tangrams unit was exceptionally interesting. This book has helped me learn how the concepts in my class are used on a more advanced level. I am 100% sure this will help me when i get to high school and beyond. I recommend it if you are having trouble in school, you want to advance in school, if you want your kid to advance in school,or if you are just teaching an advanced class of students. This is a wonderful book. That is why I gave it 5 stars!

Have you ever looked for interesting mathematical problems that challenge students beyond what they learn in school? I have for some time and I have finally found them. This book is a collection of challenging but very interesting and fun mathematical problems and their solutions. In addition, it contains relevant background material and brief historical notes. While the problems use concepts learned in elementary and middle school, they are not age specific and are suitable for any mathematically curious mind. The brief historical notes are very informative and inspiring.
This is the second book I got by one of the coauthors (the other is Mathematical Olympiad Challenges) and both are excellent!
