About the Author

Derek Arden is a leading negotiation expert. An international keynote conference speaker, business coach and facilitator, he has worked in 27 countries, with 5 business schools and has been a visiting lecturer at the Henley Management College for 12 years.

Derek was a Director in a large profit centre of a financial institution for 12 years and has negotiated transactions worth �3bn.

The "Go To" Resource On An Increasingly Important Skill.

Derek Arden’s book Win Win is a compendium of negotiating wisdom gleaned by the author's experience and his research. It would be easy to see how this book could become the “go-to” reference for anyone who negotiates…which as Arden points out, is all of us, nearly all the time.

Packed full of insights, tools and techniques it stays away from the “scorched Earth” policies of many other books on the subject. It really lives up to its name Win/Win throughout the entire book. Arden points out several times that there are just some times you have to walk away from the table (a legitimate position) because reality is an acquired taste and some people are starving.

My copy of this book is flagged, underscored and dog eared. It will be a working reference guide going forward beginning with a tricky situation I am facing at the moment for a long term contract for my services.

If you are wondering whether or not you should invest in this book, ask yourself this: “What if my competitor across the table has bought and read it!?” Feeling lucky? Then don’t buy it.
